Jagat જગત
2023
This is the film that inspired the list, so it has to be number one. It’s all about two rival masala business families trying to destroy each other. The best parts are the small, petty moments—like when they sabotage each other's stalls. Chetan Daiya is brilliant as the patriarch who just won't back down. An absolute gem.

Malhar Thakar finds a piece of alien tech and tries to pass it off as his own invention in his village. The premise is wild, and it works. The scene where he tries to explain the 'science' to the village sarpanch is just pure gold. It’s a light, fun watch that doesn't take itself too seriously.

A classic tale of generational clash. The son wants to modernize the family business, but the father is stuck in his old ways. Kiran Kumar is fantastic as the stubborn 'baap'. It’s a story we've seen before, but the Gujarati flavor and sharp dialogue make it feel fresh. Total family entertainer.

The title alone is hilarious. A man is forced to pretend to be a doctor in a village that desperately needs one. His 'jugaad' solutions to medical problems are both clever and cringe-worthy. It’s a social satire that lands its punches with a lot of humor.

Chor Chor ચોર ચોર
2022
A heist comedy that’s more about the bumbling thieves than the actual heist. Their plan is terrible, their execution is worse, and their constant bickering is the best part of the movie. If you like situational comedies, this one’s for you.

A heartwarming story about a young boy and his grandfather. It's more of a family film than a pure comedy, but the 'dadu' is a classic mischievous old man, and his antics provide a lot of the film's charm and humor. A good one to watch with the whole family.
